ABOUT THE MONMOUTH WRITERS

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by. Started in July, 2012, THE MONMOUTH WRITERS meet at
Howell Library,  318 Old Tavern Road, Howell, NJ 07731 from 10am - 11:30am(ish) on the fourth Saturday of the month (except November, December and January).

WE'RE NOT YOUR TYPICAL WRITING GROUP
We host guest speaker events, where published authors and writers share their knowledge and experience about different aspects of writing (see the home page for more info, and a full calendar of events. We also run a CRITIQUE GROUP

PROMOTE YOUR WRITING GROUPS HERE
If you're involved with another writing group in New Jersey, and you'd like us to promote your organization at our events (we'll also add it to the database on our
Yahoo Group - the NJ affiliate of FindAWritingGroup.com), please send your information to admin@monmouthwriters.com.

HERE'S WHAT WE NEED:
The name of your group and the County, Town and address where you meet.
The genres you welcome.
The price of membership (if there is one).
Your Group's main webpage.
The date and time of your regular meetings.
A contact email for your group.
Any additional info you feel people might find helpful.

FAQ
Where can I find out more about your critique group?
You'll find a full description, along with straightforward instructions on what to expect, how to prepare etc., on the critique group page.

I don't live in Monmouth County, can I still join your Yahoo group?
The more the merrier, but we prefer you to live somewhere in (or within striking distance of)  New Jersey. If you post on the message board, make sure it's about writing. Feel free to promote your own group's meetings there.

Can I give a talk at one of your events?
If you're a published writer and you'd like to give a talk at a Monmouth Writers event, please contact
me (admin@monmouthwriters.com) and we'll try to sort something out.

Do I have to pay to attend a Monmouth Writers event?
We don't charge admission or membership dues, though our guest speakers will be happy to sign copies of their work afterwards, for those wishing to purchase.

Do you pay a speaker's fee?
There's no speaking fee, but the good folks at Howell library are happy for our guest speaker to sell his/her work after the event.
